Clutch Masters single disc FX Series clutch kits for MK3 Focus RS manual transmission models. Includes the heavy duty pressure plate with clutch disc and new alignment tool. Rigid discs will work with the factory OEM dual mass flywheel (DMF) and the -D options include a sprung disc for use with an aftermarket single mass flywheel (SMF).
The discs are different for each kit and are recommended below for use with daily driving, high power street cars, drag racing or road racing. These kits do not include a replacement bearing, but we offer the ACT release bearing below as well as the suggested SMF for the sprung disc kits.
Vehicle Fitment:
2016-2018 Ford Focus RS
Purchase Includes:
(1) Heavy Duty Pressure Plate

Flywheels are sold separately. The clutch kits with the SPRUNG discs REQUIRE an aftermarket single mass flywheel. We recommend the Clutch Masters FW-230-AL or FW-230-SF.
Release bearings are sold separately. We recommend the ACT RB009 Release Bearing.
What’s the difference between SMF and DMF?
SMF stands for single mass flywheel, DMF is dual mass flywheel. The OEM flywheel is a DMF designed to help reduce vibration and noise. There’s a lot of arguments for and against SMF vs DMF, so please do all your own research and choose what’s right for your build.
Clutch Masters confirmed, you can use the rigid discs with a SMF, but “it’s going to get real noisy.” The sprung discs can NOT be used with the OEM flywheel.

FX400 | 07230-HDC6-D | Sprung Hub (6-Puck) | Requires SMF. Does not fit OEM Flywheel. |

07230-HDBL-R | Rigid Disc (8-Puck) | Works with OEM DMF | |
• For spirited street use, drag racing and road racing • Ceramic Lined 6-Puck or 8-Puck Disc The FX400 System uses a custom, extremely durable, ceramic-lined 6-puck or 8-puck disc. This is the ultimate extreme duty street and/or road/drag racing system. The sprung hub design allows for moderate dampening in high-torque applications, rendering it much more street-able than solid or rigid designs. This disc is designed for long life, outstanding holding capacity, and rapid heat dissipation. Warning: Due to the solid friction rivet design, the FX400 disc engages very quickly and may chatter slightly in first and reverse. To help alleviate this problem, only premium ceramic friction material is used. |
