ARP L19 head studs for the 7-bolt 4G63 DSM and Evo 4/5/6/7/8/9 models. The L19 head stud kit includes a full replacement set of 10 studs, 10 washers and 10 nuts with assembly lube. The 7-bolt studs are 11mm (7/16″). Always handle L19 head studs with gloves.

Always handle L19 studs with gloves and do not make direct contact with your hands or skin. This is for the integrity of the metal as it is easily contaminated. Keep the studs oiled.

The ARP L19 material (comparable to A1 Technologies H11 Tool Steel) is a premium steel that is processed to deliver superior strength and fatigue properties. L19 is a very high strength material compared with 8740 (standard ARP head studs) and is capable of delivering a clamp load at 260,000 psi. It is primarily used in short track and drag racing applications where inertia loads exceed the clamping capability of ARP2000.
Like most high strength, quench and temper steels – L19 requires special care during manufacturing to avoid hydrogen embrittlement. This material is easily contaminated and subject to stress corrosion. It must be kept well-oiled and not exposed to moisture.
Because of the many head lifting issues on 4G63 blocks running in excess of 35+ PSI, a stronger stud needed to be manufactured to meet the demands of today’s top engine builders and racers alike. No modification to your cylinder head or block is required as these are a direct drop-in replacement for the OEM head stud!
